For one hour, between noon and 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, The Art Guys lay in state in the Rotunda of City Hall in Houston, Texas.   This event coincided with The Art Guys project “Forever Yours” which concluded on the same day.

“The Art Guys Lie in State” is an official Art Guys Silver Jubilee event.

Microcinema International will produce a DVD anthology of The Art Guys’ performance and video works scheduled for release in the fall of 2008.  Included in this 2-DVD box set will be selections from the The Art Guys’ live stage performances, conceptual events in public, video works, and the ZenFilm documentary of “SUITS: The Clothes Make the Man,” the epic one-year event wherein The Art Guys wore Todd Oldham designed business suits emblazoned with leased corporate logos.  This will be the first such compilation of The Art Guys’ works.

The Art Guys are have been selected by a prestigious panel of judges as the 2008 inaugural “Star of Design” in the field of Art as presented by the Decorative Center of Houston.  Decorative Center Houston, along with the selected judges will honor the inaugural 2008 Stars of Design winners at DCH Spring Market: Wide Open Spaces . A special ceremony will take place on Tuesday, May 6, from 5:00- 7:00 PM in Decorative Center Houston’s Ground Floor Gallery, with a reception immediately following.
